I am about to by a set of crowers for my 420a and I wanted to know If i had to modify anything other than the springs to install them? do I need ti bore anything? Im new to engine modifying.

If you don't get their spring and retainer kit they wont honor a warranty so you know. If you have never done it you should watch a video on it. Since your only doing cams you can't mix up anything such as lifters and rockers since they are already worn in and broken in to where they are. You will have to redo your timing so you might want to do the belt while your already in the area. How many miles are on the motor?

For your other questions boring is only done in the cylinders where the pistons are. You shouldn't have to modify anything. I would label your parts so you don't get them mixed up. Camshaft removal is easy in my book but go youtube it and learn about it before you do the work. You will need a valve spring tool also which you can rent from autozone.

this car is a dd right now to and from work would I be able to do this as a weekend project? or would it require more time? how hard are valve spring to replace?

The valve springs are relatively easy to replace if you buy a ohv valve spring compressor. You can get them from ebay for cheap. Universal OHV/OHC Overhead Valve Spring Compressor Tool | eBay
It would be a real good idea to replace the valve seals while you have the springs off. You will just have to pull the timing cover, timing belt, valve cover, old cams and rockers out to get to the springs. It isn't going to hurt if you get the rockers mixed up as stated earlier. The valve lash is taken out by the lifter so it matter one bit to switch them around.

With the valve spring tool it makes it easy I can tear down and put the head back together in a few hours so yeah you should be able to get it done in a day. You have to know the timing procedures or you will mess your motor up. It has to be spot on. You have to loosen the tensioner to get the timing belt off so pay attention. Like I said watch a video on it so you have an idea of what to do. Its not the easiest thing but definitely do able if you like to wrench on things.

Why would you recommend someone to buy a tool when they can rent it for free?

A very good reason. There is no where that i know of that rents that type of spring compressor. The only ones that are available to be rented at parts store will not work with an overhead cam setup. The only ones that you can rent locally to me are like this,
