OK - I'm trying to remove the instrument panel cover (where the A/C controls and the radio are). I got the two screws where the instrument panel cover and the center console meet, as well as the two on the upper-left (where it meets the area above the gauge cluster). It is still not coming out - it feels like it's attached at the upper-right of the cover, near the heater vents.

Any suggestions?

You need to remove the screws for the gauge cluster, pop it out a bit, and then pull the peice your trying to get off away from it. Theres a little plastic pin type thing holding it down. very annoying

Ahh - OK. So I need to remove the cover from the gauge cluster, then the screws for the gauge cluster itself?

It feels like it's being held down on the passenger side, though....

Also, just to make sure we're on the same page, it's the instrument PANEL cover I want off (not the gauge clusters with the speedo/tach/etc, but the one that the radio sits in with the HVAC controls and all).

Thers 2 screws on the overhang of the the gauge cluster going upwards. remove them. slightly pull off the gauge cluster on the right side. remove the screws on the left side of the HVAC panel, then the ones on the botom where it connects to cupholder/shifter cover thing (?) and then you should be able to pull it out from underneath the gauge cluster.

g0tEclipseD - thanks for the help man - I think I answered my question though, but maybe you can tell me if this sounds right.

From the engine/body/chassis manual, it looks like the heater vents slide out of the top, and there are two more screws inside there. This seems to be about where my problem is coming from - does this sound right to you?

Oh yes, completely forgot about those. To get the heater vent out, you take a small flat head screw driver. [one side at a time] theres a little tiny clip inside it along the side. with the small screw driver, you stick it underneath that and then push down causing it to go outward. then with a bigger flat head (wrap in a thin towel so you dont scratch it) you pry out the vent, then do the same with the other side. hope it helped
