Hey guys can some please help me by going into details on how u adjust the timing on a 1g ...the reason being im going to be running a 50-75 shot of nitrous on the engine and i read in a couple of threads that it is good to retard timing alittle to help...or does it not matter the timing because i use 94 octane with 15% ethanol ...thanks fellows any info will help greatly. ..:D:thumb::talon:

hey man what about timing for nitrous i would need to retard the timing a little ...and the jets on the nitrous will be 50-75 hp so how much retard would i have to do on the timing for these jets ...thanks homie ..:D:thumb::talon::talon:

If you have an adjustable timing light, just set it to whatever timing you want. If you want zero set it there and turn the cam sensor until the marks on the cam gears line up. if it is not adjustable, turn the cam sensor until the marks have twice the distance of the second video in that link.

94 octane with the small blend is the best fuel actually. So you do want to pull timing. To be safe I would run around 0-2* BTDC at most. Ideally you want to pull timing out when nitrous hits but since you dont have timing control the CAS is your only way.

What are you going to tune the AFR with?

well im using a palm data logger with mmcd.prc...i tune by the narrow band O2 sensor and look for knock from the knock sensor ...so u mean to retard the CAS from 5*- 8* BTDC down to 2* with my timing light and that will help when nitrous is activated. I guess i should get a wideband like the uego or a exhaust temp gauge to aid in tuning the AFR also i was planning on getting a exhaust temp gauge ...let me know homie... PS im using a MAF-T for fine tuning ...:D:thumb::talon:

Tuning nitrous without a wbo2 is very dangerous. You will have to add fuel when the nitrous is activated in most cases. Tunning without a wbo2 is dangerous by itself and adding another power adder is not smart without all the right tuning. Also using just a maf-t for tuning is not fine tuning. More of a rough tune. I would go with dsmlink if you really want to run nitrous.

Sorry man i forget to mention the nitrous kit is a wet kit ...and the fuel jet is tuned to 40 psi fuel pressure and im running 43 psi on the AFPR for my dsm chip... well u can fine tune with the rpm mode on the MAF-T no....and i wonder if a S-AFC would be better for fine tuning...cause im looking to buy one as we speak...:talon::talon:

is this guy for real
tuning on a wideband gauge
thats pretty much tuning on a light show

Hey homie who are you talking about me or the member im quoting well give me your thoughts on how to set up the nitrous wet kit including timing adjustment to be done to the car....:D:thumb::thumb::talon:

I think he's implying that you cannot accurately tune a car w/o logging... aka reading off your wb gauge.... which... I will be happy to raise the bs flag on... because while my tune is not perfect, much of my tuning has been done off the afr/boost/tach gauges.
