how to access door hinges

I just got my 95 eclipse gs and noticed that the driver's side door is off alignment (it rubs against the fender when opening/close), and I pretty much have to slam the door shut. I also notice there is a sag too. Anyways, I need help gaining access to the door hinge that is connected to the car. Do I need to remove the fender in order to access it? There's not enough spacing between the door and fender to tighten it. Thanks!

hate to say it but yes the fender has to go.

I've got the same deal. I've been waiting to need enough parts to place an order. When I do I'm going to try to get a new upper hinge, if they are still available. I've seen them listed under $4o from mitsubishi. It's no more work than adjusting the worn old hinge, and it should reduce squeeks and rattles. With my door almost shut, I can lift it up almost 1/2" in at the rear.

There was a factory wrench for reaching those bolts. I have no idea if you could find one these days, nor if it'd be affordable.
