how much psi??

How do I find out how much psi I am running? I just bought a stock 98 spyder gst and I thought a boost gauge would tell you, but I see it just goes to 2.0. What is the boost gauge actually used for? Sorry for the newbie question I just wanted to make sure I was buying the right stuff before I just went getting stuff. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like your boost gauge is reading BAR not PSI.

Multiply whatever reading you get by 14.7 and that is your boost.

Since he said it was a stock GST, I highly doubt he was pushing 2 bar.

It sounds like the stock guage, which in the 1g's, is actually a computer driven guage that calculates what your boost is from various sensors. Most likely the same in your 98.

They do not have much value in determing an accurate boost number (psi, bar, whatever you prefer).

Use an aftermarket guage, and properly install it. Autometer, etc.

search should be about 11psi at redline on a stock gst
