As the thread title states, about how much power is necessary to run mid 12's on a full weight 2g manual awd car? I have looked on the 1/4 mile time slips database on this website to find a lot of conflicting information. Some people have 300whp and are running mid to high 12's and some have 400whp running the same. I think thats probably due to people not updating their timeslips/dynosheets as they make modifications to their cars. I have also searched for this and have not found the answer I'm looking for.

To be more specific I plan on using a evo3 16g and having a full weight car. So what kind of power at the wheels is this going to require? Assume that I am a fairly good driver for your answer.

cams, injectors, 16g (big or evo), pump, tune.
my has that and he runs 12.4. but my other friend hit 12.9 with pump, evo16g, FMIC.

I have done a large amount of reading on the subject of modifying dsm's and I know which parts are required to do what. Thats not what I'm asking. I'm asking about how much horsepower at the wheels is it going to take to run those mid 12 quarter mile times.

Mid 12's on an AWD DSM fall into about a 110mph trap speed, which is more an indicator of power to weight. ET is more or less about traction. I've looked into this too and I'm going to say somewhere in the low 300 whp area with a good driver. 60' time, shifting etc. Power under the curve also plays a big role, not just peak.

Very much so depends on the driver. An average driver and full weight awd can do it with 350 at the wheels.
