how much horse power can a intake hold

Horsepower? You mean airflow...? How much airflow will the stock 2G intake manifold manage?

I'm making 452 to the wheels with my stock 2g intake and I don't think it is my limiting factor.

Yeah the stock manifold is fairly good. Most people around here get custom ones welded because they're cheap and efficient

a stock 2g intake manifold can take between 420-470ish HP...personally i would trade up at about 400...but thats personal preference.

What? And what happens at 470HP? The danger to manifold light comes on and the floor falls out?

Funny, most DSMers who have actually made these sort of numbers say the manifold didn't become a restriction for them until around 600 HP.

I no rite? What people won't do to boost their post numbers. Misinformation seems to be an everyday thing now, only if there was a team of people who would search for these types of posts and delete them. These people could even issue some sort of warning for repeat offenders, oh well.

I wasnt trying to boost anything. Actually, i was trying to help with the information i knew and more that i had found. If that information was incorrect, then i do apologize to the OP. However, that is no reason for you and others to be disrespectful, especially since you're a supporting member and know that one of the rules is "be respectful". Thank you.

OP: If my "misinformation" and personal preference led you down the wrong path, i apologize. I was simply trying to help you by using my, a mechanic friend's, and the search option's information.

The stock intake is very strong, I don't know if anyone has ever damaged one from to much boost. I have only gone up to 34psi on mine and I never even worried about it. I don't think the cast aluminum is going to burst from boost before you engine melts itself.

So this thread got jacked... but i'll agree with SOAD even though I'm not boosting 32psi..I've seen to many DSM's with 600+ that have stock 1g or 2g IM. You'll be fine. No need to spend the extra money, depending on your HP goals.
