Im not really sure what to search for here so I decided to start a new thread. Im trying to find out what kind of gains that can be had just on a stock dsm w/ boost controller and gauge. Yeah I just have a 13g on the auto right now since I got it 3 days ago, but I'll be putting my ported 16g on next week w/ all the supporting mods. So no flaming on the 13g and auto. I know, I know. Anyway, does anyone have any dyno sheets, videos or ideas of how much hp gain from upping the boost from stock 10psi to 15psi? I think Ive seen a video before of one but that was before I was REALLY into DSMs. A friend told me that general rule of thumb is ~10hp per psi. Is he correct or even close? I didnt think I could gain about 40-50hp by just another 5psi from stock. I know there are good gains but didnt think near that much. Let me know guys! Thanks.

on a side note, I was totally joking, I love you all..........

Peace be with you my dsm brethren.......

Since this thread has pretty much deteriorated, I thought I'd throw out my opinions.

98spydert definetly wins the battle and the other guy is in the wrong, no doubt about it. :p

saw wave analog, I like your name since I play with synthesizers all the time.

And you all seem to misunderstand the defenition of horsepower. You seem to think it is POWER, when it is not. Torque is power. The equation "airflow=hp" should read more like "airflow=torque." Airflow is indirectly related to horsepower, since that is a function of torque and rpm, and you definetly cannot calculate the horsepower just from the airflow. You could get a pretty damn good guesstimation on the torque based on airflow, however.

since this thread has derailed to all hell ill talk about synths now :)

synths were my first love before my dsm, ive goot a moog source, roland sh09, sh101, roland jx-10 and an alesis ion.. total synth dork :) i think i actually enjoy my gsx more than i do my synths now though so they havent been getting much action lately.. what do you have/do with them? i make crappy electroclash that i never finish

Thats the way I was. Except I had all Virtual Analogues. As a 15 yr old, i was never able to afford a GOOD analogue that had midi. I had just about every damn VA you could imagine. Access Virus (both A and B) Novation Nova, Roland Jp8000, and a Yamaha An1x. Along with other ROMplers well, such as the Roland JV1080, Jx350, and other such pieces.

I attempted to make Synthpop..You know, along the lines of Erasure, Depeche Mode.

I have since found that after 6 yrs of that, ive moved on. Now i have a damn money pit car. Oh well.

Well, synths were my first real obsession. I used to have a korg ms2000 rack and I used my alesis qs6.1 (still have) to control it via midi. I also have a korg er-1 drum machine (really just a toy) and a korg ea-1 synth/sequencer. I bought a software package called rebirth which includes a very very realistic sounding tr-909, tr-808, and two tb-303s (gotta love em) along with some other effects, and I sold the software on ebay for more than I paid for it (I was sure to keep a burned copy of the disc, however). I've recorded some repetetive techno music with them, but honestly I haven't messed with them in a year or two.

However, I've recently discovered how much fun guitars can be, and I'm looking to get back into electronic music and use the guitar and a sampler to make guitar loops.

I used to be really into industrial music (KMFDM, Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, etc.) and I think I'm starting to return to that type of music.

What about you?

industrial is what got me into synths, skinny puppy is my favorite band and has been forever .. i actually got to see them live this summer in chicago, which was the greatest thing ever :D i have kind of been drifting away from industrial music lately but i am actually in the midst of putting together an industrial compilation cd for a website that i am a moderator at www.darksonus.com ..its a forum for industrial synth geeks, imo easily the best resource for synth people that are into making industrial. ive hit some delays in getting the discs pressed but the album is basicly finished.. 17 tracks, most of which are better than a lot of the crap you get on a metropolis sampler. anyway, yeah, i love synths.. my dsm has been distracting me from them lately but im sure ill get back on them in the winter. thats usually how it works for me. glad to know im not the only industrial guy that is into cars too heh..

I like useless posts, so I can't wait to watch this battle start! :D

Hey, leakyfacet, say something about his mom!

well i would like to think that posting something about whats going on in the thread on having to do with cars is somewhat contributing, but when u start talking about techno that just completely de-rails the conversation on upped boost. My posts may not have been about dsms, but they were replying to a post about dsms, so its not as bad. :thumb:

we werent talking about techno anyway, we were talking about industrial homes...

..and synthesizers. ill talk about synths anywhere and everywhere, and if i ever come across you and yer mom talking about dsms, im going to interrupt you and start talking about synths to her too :p

How about reporting this thread to a moderator as oppossed to going off-topic and continuning arguing.
