OK so I put 680 Injectors on and also 255 pump and AFR to control it all, so now its blow rich black smoke out. How many lbs should it be set at. I have a Big T28 ported on it and am running around 18 LBS with boost controller also I have intercooler piping and a down pipe and no cat or anything other then a muffler. The guy that has done all the work has set it at 42lbs and I thought that was a little high what should it be set at with what I have done.

Also he did all the work that is up there I have been over the road driving and he wants $1300 for all the work he did by putt all that stuff on. Isn’t that a little high?

Thank You

1. What is an AFR? Do you mean AFPR? If so, was 42psi of fuel base pressure taken with or without the vaccum line connected? Which AFPR?

2. What device are you using to compensate for 680s? And what are the settings?

3. What are you logging with?

4. Update your profile.

Yes AFPR,
The psi um not sure he just told me he had it at 68 at first and 42 now. As in what type of AFPR just a normal one that picked up for like 50 bucks.

As for the compensate for the 680s what do u mean i am lost sorry been on the road like i said i get to a computer maybe 1 or 2 times a month now and its for 2 hours max.

Logging?

Update profile. When i have the time from not driving and taking care of my newborn i will.

Thank You

Oldman wants to know what brand Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator you have installed on the car. The only normal fuel pressure regulator is the stock one ( in other words an AFPR is not "normal" in this sense).

You can't just throw in whatever size fuel injectors and expect them to work. You will run either too rich or too lean. You will at least need an AFC (Air fuel controller) to compensate for them.

You are going to need a data logger to see exactly what is going on with your car (why it not working right).

You will also need to update your profile if you want someone to help you out. We can't just guess what all you have on your car and give you an answer.

Thats why in the first msg i put what i had done to it.

I orderd a APEXI SUPER AFC 2 AFC II SAFC AIR FUEL CONTROLLER BLUE

Is that what i need what do u guys mean by logger where do i find one or give me a brand name.

Ok, Put the stock injectors back in for now. You cannot expect your car to run normally if you just throw in some larger injectors and not use some kind of controller. An Apexi Super AFC will work along with a datalogger of some sort for starters. If not you can go afew other routes like DSMlink. The options for that are totally up to you. There is alot of information here in the forums.

Your fuel pressure needs to be set so that you can compensate for the larger fuel pump you have. That is if you have a 255lph "High Pressure" fuel pump. DO research on this or you will get burned(not literally).

Now, for the information that you provide for us needs to be more specific than what you gave. We all have downpipes and intercooler pipes. We need to know if stock or not? What brand is it? Things like this do matter. We don't ask these things just to give you a hard time.

You need to do alot more research in these things before you just start doing things to your car. For all you may know, running rich like that can fowl your o2 sensors.

Take your time with these things. It is worth it in the end. Good luck...

Ditto what everyone else has said especially about research before the puchase of parts. But unlike an air filter, down pipe, hard piping, intercooler, parts that don't affect engine control, fuel upgrades will be more involved and that's where tuning the car starts to happen and you'll need to really know what is going on and not putting control of your car in someone else's hands. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are but I'd sleep with the car manual and purchase some tools because I installed all those parts you had installed myself and saved a ludicrous amount of money. I know you have limited time and all but at the rate you're going on labor cost you won't be able to feed your little one. Labor and understanding your own vehicle will be the keys to success:thumb: . Good luck!
