ok i left my manual outside outside and its all dark how much tranny fluid i need for rear diff, transfercase, transmission? my transmission oil felt like it had little grains of sand in it so i didnt think that was too good so ima change it all.

oh and what kinda fluids good?

I think its 2.3 quarts (gl4 only) in trans 1.5 in transfer case and like .8 in the rear end.

But thats off the top of my head. just make sure its gl-4 in the trans fill it up on a flat surface and when lube comes out of the fill hole your set. Same thing goes for the transfer case and rear end.

You can use GL-5 in both the rear end and transfer case.

Correct on the type of fluid to use, but wrong on the amounts.

2.4 in the trans. Or a general rule is to fill it up until it's coming out of the top.
Transfer case is 0.5 qrts.
The differential is 0.9 qrts.

just have the car on level ground and fill all drivetrain (tranny, transfer, diff) fluids till they start to poor back out, let the excess poor out and when it stops running out put the fill plug in.

straight from my Haynes manual:

Manual transaxle: 2qts
Automatic transaxle: 3.2 qts
Transfer Case: 0.3 qts
Rear diff: 0.74 qts

Manual transaxle, Transfer Case, and Rear diff all take API GL-5 SAE 75W85W (rear diff is 90W)

Auto transaxle takes MOPAR ATF +3 TYPE 7176a, or equivalent, automatic transaxle fluid

Yea I decided to use my Haynes Manual and put 2qts of fluid in my tranny. It ended up getting a horrible loud clicking/knocking sound when I released the clutch, but would go away when I pushed the clutch in. I checked vfaq and it said to put in about another half quart. What do you know I did that and the sound went away.
Sometimes Haynes isn't always the best to go by, but for more technical work yes.

well that's good to know, then I won't screw up my tranny when I change fluids LOL:thumb:

I get a little bit of chatter from the clutch when I let off the gas then I get a nice humming noise from either the trans area or rearend but that only on decel. When I press the clutch in and put it in neutral it goes away. I know I have enough fluid in the trans and transfer case but cant figure it out. I hope the Transfer case isn't on the fritz

I thought you got the chatter because of that 3.2 Fidanza Clutch? But for everything else all I could think of is maybe a fluid change.

this is from alldata and this is for a stick

send me your vin, miles, and name and i can check to see if it is open if it is they will replace it for free. a recall is good for ever as long as it hasn't been done.

The original recall was for the seal in the back. It consisted of that as well as an updated yoke and new 1st ujoint being replaced.
The recall notice states that if there is any shavings in the oil or the fluid is excessively low, the case must be replaced. Also if the mechanic deems it bad due to road test(excessive whining). I had mine replaced when I was auto by Chrysler last year due to shavings, without a hassle!

how could you tell if the transfer case has had the recall work done or not? same with the timing belt.

That you could call up the dealer with the vin. It is a lifetime issue due to it being a safety recall. Mine had already had it done about 7 years back before they replaced the tcase

the easiest way to tell is make the call to the dealer and have them check the vin for your car and see if it has ever been done.

I just had my t-case and the front ball joints covered under recall BUT,,, Now I have a weird humming noise that i didnt have before so i think Im going to take it back but I just dont want to have to pay to get it checked out but the noise comes and go's with acceleration and decelleration
