How does the 256 NET compare?

This is the B.W. / Bullseye S256 NET (non extended tip) turbo. The only numbers I have on it are these, emailed from Bullseye: .55 A/R, 3" turbine wheel, 3.00"/2.62 67 trim. No maps that I know of.

How does this thing compare in flow and spool to common parts like the 20g, 50 trim, etc?

Has he dyno'd it? Where does it spool compared, say, to the ubiquitous 50 trim?

He hasn't dynoed it, but should have some timeslips as soon at Atco re-opens. Spool up on my S256 was about 30psi by 3700, he's right around there. I've had the 256 and a 50 trim, the 256 was definitely a broader powerband.

I hit 32 psi by 3700-3800. The car definately pulls harder then my old 20g setup. The issues that Im having now is that I keep breaking trannys. Im hoping to hit the dyno this winter. David@Bullseye sent this to me about 2 months back and its been on my 1g awd street car. Im seeing about 52 lb/min on pump gas and maxing out the 2g maf at about 5000 rpms. The turbo definately gets a big thumbs up from me. Great street manners with alot of potential power.

Does the non-extended tip S256 have the map-width enhancement groove also? Is that a bolt-on or T-3 NET we're talking about as far as spool up characteristics go? I just got a T3 Turbonetics mani, 38mm WG, and Ford 5-bolt down pipe, so I could go with either the S256 or S258 and just noticed this thread, thanks for any help you can give me in making my decision:thumb:.

No, it doesn't.

Update: I spoke with David Hall at BP who confirms more or less what Steve93Talon said. Hall is trying to get more data from BW, so if anybody's interested, maybe an email to Hall is the place to start. [email protected]

It is a non-BB turbo. The spool up is great. I do have a bolt on housing though. I will be switching to a t3 setup soon, hopefully within a month or two.

I know this is an old thread but I just bought this turbo in the DSM hot side .55 A/R.

Anyone have any more info?

Dyno sheets?

1/4 mile times?

Anything at all.

Tom
