Thanks, Steve

I'm going to assume he doesn't run around like that otherwise he would suck in debris through the BOV return line (no filter/blockoff on it) and that would suck (no pun intended) ROFL

The blow off valve is a BLOW OFF valve. It blows off, not sucks in. When there is vaccum, the valve is shut.

Without the use of a VPC or GM Maf Translator, the car will run rich in between shifts, most likely stall out after quick high revs, and bog after shifting at high RPMs.

You can recirculate the greddy which is a good option.

He was talking about the bov return which is located on the intake and will suck in debris.
You can see it turned to the left and is not connected. If it is not plugged which it doesn't appear to be, it will suck things in.

He probably connects in to the type-s when the car is running.

you must be a newb too.. you can run a BOV open like that, it wont suck anything it.. but his car will run rich without a maft in blowthrough, or VPC

It is plugged, the Greddy kits come with a silver piece you clamp on the end, as shown.

If that was the initial question than no, it isn't a good idea to run like that even with a filter. Unless your air sensor is after the turbo, you'll be sucking in unmetered air and you'll run a leaner than you should.
