what are common ways to tell if your slave cylinder has gone bad?

The clutch is Not a fillable part, the clutch system is.
Enough with my jokes. Anyways it will either be the master or slave cylinder. I ended up having to replace both.

*jokemodeon* If i have to fill the clutch, I'd rather take brake fluid than oil *jokemodeoff*

Just take DOT-3 or DOT-4 brake fluid. Cheap and fine

Yes, its simply brake fluid. Although I use DOT 5.1 on my clutch and brake system.
