My friend and I were talking and he said that since I bought the car and knew zero history on the car to check the ignition timing to see if it was off. Now I don't have any problem with power or starting the car, he was just simply stating that I should, and of course we were bored. Anyways the timing belt and all components, including balance shaft, were all changed 10k miles ago. So he brought over his timing light, and I took some white-out and marked the TDC on the crank pulley and each degree mark on the front case. We started the car with the light hooked up to #1 cylinder and its reading 3-4* BTDC, it bounces around between these two. Idle is at ~800 rpms, a little below according to my datalogger. Now my datalogger says 5* at idle, so this leads me to thinking that my timing is off ~1*. I know that on my 1G all you had to do was loosen up the nuts on the cam sensor and adjust accordingly to your base timing. Well as you can tell I have a 2G and it seems to be without a cam sensor, that I can see. What do I do and how can I set my timing back to 5*?
