How do I put the center console lid latch back in?

For the life of me I cannot put the latch for the center console back in.. My old one was broken when I got it and I decided to get a new latch but I can't get it in. How is something so simple so confusing -_- if someone could tell me how or take apart their lid and snap a quick pic it would be great. :coy:

EDIT: Never mind, right before thinking about trashing it and just buying a new lid, I figured it out. So much time wasted, I feel so stupid.

Here you go man. On the other side of the lid it should have a little platform looking piece for the spring tips to slip down into.

When you get the spring tabs into their slots, Pull up slightly to swing the plastic little tab to it's resting place.

I hope this helps.

Oh, never mind then. Maybe it will help someone else in the future. LOL

:ohdamn: I should have posted half an hour ago. That would of been helpful but somehow (before almost breaking it :banghead:) I got it in. :hellyeah:

Yeah I had to go and take it off of the car. Now it makes me want to clean it because I didn't know how dirty it was under there LOL.

LOL mine was pretty dusty when I first opened it up. I have to ask, what do you keep in your secret compartment? I have been reading through this thread and it's pretty interesting LOL

I just keep my insurance, registration and 4 fuses. One fuse for the main line running to the power block for my amps and one for each of the power wires for the amps. I have yet to blow a fuse but they are there just in case.

Pick one up from a junk yard, I got a lid for $8. I don't even have a use for it, honestly, I noticed the secret compartment and swore that I didn't have it in mine so I bought the entire lid. Sadly when I got home to install it, I noticed the secret compartment and felt like an idiot. :coy:

I have a black center console...... 99, hard to find LOL

Same here. What you do is if you go to the junk yard and pull out any 2g lid, take off the gray cover and you can switch it out for your black cover. BOOM, new black lid :D The plastic they use on the gray interior is black, so the inside of the gray lid is black already :hellyeah:

I don't recommend throwing away the gray cover before purchasing, I thew it back in the car I pulled it from and now I have a lid without the cover and no clip sitting in my garage, being useless. :ohdamn:
