How do I check for shaft play on my 14B turbo? :toobad: My car as been teaking out lately.... :toobad:

basically remove the intake tube, and stick your fingers gently inside the front of the turbo charger, grasp the center bolt and give it a shake, check for side to side, and in and out.

just try and wiggle it inwards and outwards, and from left to right. if it refuses to move in any direction, and only spins (it should not drag, it should spin freely), it is a good turbo. if it wiggles alot and moves around it has shaft play

Thanks guys! I have to say that DSMTuners is awsome! It has pretty much helped me solve all my problems by leading me into the right direction and suggesting things that I should check for ect.... :thumb: :dsm:
