How did this happen???BOV

Today i was driving to a friends house up a hill and when i gave it gas, the car just liked stopped, so i flowed it(A/T) and it just stayed at 40mph ,a nd wouldn't move...got to his house put it in park and it stalled, so i opened the engine and the BOV (blitz) fell off, WOW then the end of the BOV had a little oil on it, is that normal and inside the pipes(stock) their was like oil in their or somen, it was shiney. then when i but the BOV back on and tighened it their is like a hole between the BOV and plastic peice,could it be a boost leak, how do i fix it, maybe that could be why i am getten 17MPG w/ only a BOV and intake, and new wires/plugs

first off- fix the bov, and get it on there do it right not just a quick job
nect the reason you might have oil in your pipes is from what i've experienced, a turbo going would spray oil, it could also be bad valve stem seals in the motor, which happened to me, but i highly doubt that cause you would notice smoke, and thats another thing is the car running rich or anything?
also a boost leak is not going to be your main prob. but it wouldnt' help
alot of times, i'm only 90% sure on this, but i think that the pipes just develop a little oil in the here and there , but wouldn't worry about it to much unless you notice something or see smoke out your exhaust.

I had a blitz BOV and i had the same problem. I think when it vents the pressure sort of pushes it out of the pipe. I tried to fix it but it never really got better. I ended up just buying a hard UICP and after that it was fine. Venting to the atmosphere will also give you bad gas milage. As for a little oil in the pipes, it's normal. I had a little in mine, as long as there's not a lot you should have nothing to worry about.

how do u vent it the the atmosphere? is it just taken that little filter off??

Venting is taken the line from the BOV back to the intake piping off. It's a bad idea to do for most cars, because the air flow sensor has already accounted for that amount of air going into the motor, and now that it's not b/c it's being vented, the motor is trying to adjust to airflow that's not there. It's normally done correctly in a blow through setup with a relocated mass air flow sensor. Just, don't worry about doing it right now

You guys do put lock washers on there, right?
