So I crawl under my car this fine evening and take a look at the electrical and I come across this wrapped around my cv & axle

Pulled itself off the OSU and who knows what else..

But I'm guessing - an keep in mind just a guess.. Maybe an educated one :) That this is the reason why my car isn't running :D

I would have noticed a "hey - think these wires hanging around the axle is a good idea?" Sign.. I have more zip ties then I care to know what I can do with them all..

Any ideas on how this could have happened WTF!!? Fun part is going to be figuring all this crap out and where what wire goes and what wire is for what in that mess :(

Dude, just buy a new harness LOL. I dont think its worth trying to piece that together... you can probably get that whole harness for ~$50 in the classified section

Yeah was just gandering around that idea too :)

And ty for the google link and tried it - not exactly finding a diagram to figure out what is for what like the image for the console

If I can't manage a wire harness this weekend will end up towing this to an electrical shop and have them do it

Please don't take it to a shop. As stated above, you will pay 1/2 of what your car is worth for them to do it.

That's also if you find a shop willing to do electrical.

Just for a reference, I was charged $100 10 years ago on an install of an electronic boost controller on a vw, it was 6 wires that all went to the ecu about 20 inches from the install location. The thing came with a diagram too. They will charge you for time looking up schematics, doing the work, plus probably $100 for materials when its really $3 in materials used...

take a short run to your local pull-a-part. If they have any (good chance they do, they have freak'n everything most the time) it'll only cost ya maybe $20-50 something like that... Yeah, i'd say that's your problem. I was kinda hoping it would have been something simple for ya. Looks like the car gods aren't on your side this time...

That looks like a harness someone made to wire up some gauges. The didn't secure it well, it came loose, and wrapped around your axle. That almost looks like phone or cat5 cable.

If I were you, I'd look closely at the whole wiring harness and fix the hack job someone did, or you'll have more problems down the road.
