Ok you guys i know ill get flamed for not using the search button properly but i just recently purchased a FP16G EVO3 from FORCED PERFORMANCE and i paid the extra $95 to have them ported. Only question i have now is how do i verify that they actually did port it? like where can i messure it and all? I just feel like what if i paid extra for nothing as ive been screwed over before of stuff and just have that sad feeling you know? I will try and post pics its just im deployed and this computer dont allow alot of websites :( . And what parts should they have ported?

No and no. Porting the wastegate actuator area will not affect boost creep/performance. Back in the day it made sense but now no one does this because it's simply a waste of time.

EDIT: oops, I'm waaaaay late to this party..

Did I suggest to him to port it out? I told him to check and see if they did, since that was what he was concerned about. And I also stated that the stock actuator doesn't allow for the flapper to open a full 90 degrees anyway, so removing material next to the flapper is in fact a waste of time, two people conveniently confirmed that after I said it. I went on to state, unless you want to modify your wastegate actuator to allow the flapper to fully open, then it is worthwhile. I went ahead and provided a link which outlines how to do that.

I don't believe any of the DSM vendors port the areas that help prevent boost creep when you order a "ported" turbo. They normally just port the turbine inlet, to remove the inlet step. If you want porting to help prevent boost creep, you have to do it yourself or find a shop that knows whats required & will cost more then the "std" porting.

Porting should be done around the WG outlet as well as above in WG inlet to prevent boost creep. Yes the mitsu flapper will only open about 45 deg, so its a good idea to remove that protruding ledge at the divider wall. You want to angle & smooth it out for better flow.
