udp pully, catback exhasut, cold air, headers, maybe do some fuel management, do some weight reduction, n maybe slap in a can of nos :D

IF I WERE TO DO TURBO WHAT ALL WOULD NEED TO DO MY OWN CUSTOM TURBO SYSTEM? AND HOW MUCH AM I LOOKING AT? :dsm:

do a search there is a list someone did on custom turbo kit for 420a. He said if he could do it over he'd get an already done kit from star or HRC. You can bore and stroke your block, raise the compression ,get udp's, fuel management, get all the little bolt ons and we are not going to reach 200 plain and simple. I wish we could. Turbo or the bottle is it.

At least given stock displacement of 2.0L. Some say it might be possible with a modded 2.4L swap, but it remains to be seen. I'm working towards getting as close as is possible without increasing displacement or reducing daily drivability this summer, so we'll see just what's possible. Bottom line: the only reason to try to hit 200hp or sub 15sec ETs all motor in a 2GNT is for the never been done before aspect of it (with the exception of billymack, who later turbo'd and sold his 2GNT). I'd also go so far as to say that, if you don't know what is involved in building a custom turbo kit, you're not ready to install or tune such a thing. Spend some quality time reading through the archives at 2GNT.com and learn all you can about tuning you engine and you'll be getting closer imo.

im doing the same thing, heres my list so far.

T-25
1g bov
s-afc
smic
piping
oil lines
exaust manifold
sfmu
mbc
boost gauge
egt gauge
gaskets, nuts, bolts, and studs
downpipe

thats all i can think of now. the cost is starting to add up though. i ruffly estimated around $1500 for everything up there. im starting to reconsider the bottle. :(

do you think it would be better to buy piece by piece since i am on a very low budget? it would take me a couple of months to do so but I have my mind set on doing this custom job. :dsm: :thumb:

would the stock gs-t exhaust bolt right up to mine? :dsm:

nope nope nope. 4g63 manifold does not bolt up to the 420a so dont try it. i thought it would be better to put together piece by piece, but the price was starting to add up. i was around $1500, and thats with a turbo whos actuator is set at twice the amount that i want. i would have to either fab a new actuator on it or use a restrictor in the piping. so ive decided i am goin to buy a Zex kit and run a 50 shot for now, and then im gonna put new rods and pistons in, and then buy a hahn stage 1 kit and use my friends bros smic when i get a good job in a couple of years. that way i can get some power now, and then when i move out of my house, i will have no restrictions on how much i can spend on my car, so i can dump that turbo in. plus i will have a better turbo, and all new shit. so ya i scrapped my piece by piece turbo plan...

I've been told that cat back yes gs-t bolts up to gs's. The GSX will not however it takes a more direct route to the bumper.

The GSX exhaust has to bend over the rear axel.

Back to the question at hand, if you're not using a turbo, then nitrous would be just about the only alternative.

ok i just bought a gst exhaust and put it on....use ur stock downpipe....but heres the thing....a gst cat WILL not bolt up to ur stock downpipe because the angles of the inlet-outlit part are different....so ude have to go on ebay and say get a high-flow cat or run strait pipe like me....then everything after the cat is a piece of cake....please for the love of god heat the #### out of ur bolts to ur exhaust and dont use an impact gun....they will break if u dont heat them up....use a torch....then ur golden....once its on u will notice a difference and u will get a nice little tone to it....

i hope i was sum help, it will save u the anger of knowing once u destroyed ur stock exhaust getting it off that u need to get other shit installing ur new exhaust
