While I'm waiting for my external dump O2 to arrive (and the full day of porting work ahead of me), I thought I'd take a little survey to see whos suffering with me and how bad and take the time to rant a little.
So just how bad is your boost spike/creep?
Just for some info on mine. I have a 20psi boost gauge. The MBC is set to 19psi (hate my halman), the wastegate starts to open at like 17psi (it actually holds 19psi for like 5 miliseconds or just long enough for me to notice).
3rd gear roll on from like 5,000rpm, forget it. If I mat the throttle to the floor the gauge needle will spike and wrap around almost back into vacuum. So that leaves me with just gentlely and progressively putting it to the floor, in which case it will only peg down to the "B" in the word "boost".
A 3rd gear roll from 2,000rpm will hold 19psi from 2,700-3,000rpm. At 4,000rpm its just over 20psi. At 5,500rpm its at the "T" in "boost" and by redline its at the second "O" in "boost".
Needless to say I can't even drive my car hard anymore. I just putt around like your grandma. My right foot is my only method of boost control. With that said, I might as well throw in a tech question. Do you think I should skip the port/external dump and just get a real external WG?
