Good afternoon. I have a 95 TSI AWD, only mods are DSMLink, aluminum intake, and 2.5 exhaust.

I recently got a code for the ISC after installing DSMLink. I took DSMLink grounded the grounds in it, adjusted BISS to a good idle, ungrounded and fine tuned it for ISCpostion to sit at 30 on running temp idle with no loads on.

This is where it gets strange. I can start the car, drive, everything is fine. Idle, acceleration etc. doesn’t matter if I drive for 10 minutes or an hour, it drives fine, and at idle ISCpostion reads 30-32.

The issue comes when I turn the car off and go back to start the car on a hot start. It starts without issue but runs rough as hell, and the ISCposition sits at 40-45 at idle. This won’t correct itself and the idle stays rough and the ISC won’t go under 40. Under hard acceleration sometimes it will stutter in lower RPMS and sometimes has a mini backfire and once I hit 3k RPM or above the stutter goes away. I’ve done a few logs, don’t know what to look for really data wise.

I know people have issues on hot start with bad FPS, but those issues seem to go away after a little idle time… mine does not.. could it be an issue with the FPS and what would be a good way to test it? Maybe just bypass it completely as it’s simply a hot start/vaporlock system.
There are no check engine lights or pending codes.

Thank you.

Did this all start after installing ECMLink? As in the car ran fine before and all the problems happened after the install?

I’d recommend posting a log for to people to see as well.

Nah it was happening before ECMlink was installed, to get a good idle I just kinda adjusted the BISS to what was as good an idle I could get before link while all running and no draws. I’ll post some logs when I get home, I made quite a few 😂

The ISC ohms were in spec and tested good.

So just an update, ive been so busy I didnt get to my laptop for the logs but I noticed a smell of gas and kind of a misfire also happening with the issue, and when I stopped to get gas the pressure from taking the gas cap off was insane.... and than the cars idle and issues went away. So I think the drivability issues after adjusted the ISC are different and related to the insane pressure the gas tank is seeing. Anytime im having the issue I just pop the gas cap off and it goes back to normal.

I did the charcoal canister delete some time ago, so either something got kinked, or the one way valve went bad, will have to get to it to see.

While im in there I'm gonna EGR Delete, and FIAV bypass, and fuel solenoid delete.
