I was wondering if I could get a few opinions on the look of this DVD player in my car. I don't have lots of money for any REAL cool customization, like built into the airbag compartment so I just mounted my brother's portable DVD player using velcro. Does it look nice? or cheesy? Anyway any opinions (good or bad) would be welcome. Thanks!

Looks fine to me, It's something that is easily moved, just be careful though I wouldnt want that dvd player going into my skull in a crash :thumbdown might wanna unplug that airbag.

You may have trouble with it skipping like that as well.. Most cd/dvd players tend to work better when placed completely horizontal or completely vertical.

Oh man, take that down please...if you get into an accident, that DVD player is going Right through the face of whoever is sittin there, probably killing them.

Also I think you only have about 15 degrees or so untill you start running into read problems with CDs (depending on the device).

get rid of it! it will skip. why do you want a dvd player in the car any way? You can't use it while you are driving, the cops will pull you over. that looks ghetto fabulous. Just save up some money for a screen in the visor or custom mounted on the airbag panel and a seperate dvd player in the dash. its definetly cheaper than the indash/screen combo.

Ok thanks for the replies everyone. Yeah I guess I'll take it down. I've never been a big I.C.E. person anyway. Thanks for honest opinions....and yeah the possiblity of the airbag going off also crossed my mind afterwards.

you people do realize thatthe air bag flips up correct? anyways

That is ghettofab, and compeltely retarded. Moutn it on your armrest or soemthing for gods sake.

But good try, bad followthrough

I say no to that place or the whole thing. Get one that goes in the sunvisor.
I must say a DVD player for a car may cost $$$ but mine was well worth it. I never knew it could be useful.

Yea, they only have hidden ones, like the one I found when I took out the ash tray. :p

As for the DVD player, it looks funny. For it being on the visor, I wouldn't want to block so much of my window, yea its small, but it would irritate me having it in my face all the time, and it seems like more of a distraction than anything, as it would be anywhere else. But if it were me, I would put it above or below my stereo, somewhere on the center counsil so its outta the way, but you/your passenger can see it when you want too. Instead of having to buy two visor screens or have to look at an odd angle to the airbag (which doesn't seem all that safe after thinking about what the other guys mentioned).

yea im sorry, but that looks terrible. if theres one thing that is chessy looking, that would be it. sorry man, thake that thing down now :barf:

sell it and get a flip-out... something that's meant to be there. i never thought those things could be cleanly integrated into a car install.

Like our Talons? :thumb:
I dunno though...having a tuning interface (like DSMLink or AEM's) on a built in screen would be the balls. A carputer would be too bad of an investment if you're constantly carrying around CDs, but this has been discussed to death elsewhere.
