London,
ok I wanna get this thing into saftey but my horn doesnt work... is there any good places to check first? i got my lights off so i can see the horns, I checked the fuse under the drivers side and its not blown... the horns are a bit rusty ....

any suggestions?

Yes, check the horn button itself. The next thing to check would be the horns themselfs. Check to see you are getting power to them, and the connections are not all corroded and crappy.

If everything checks out, a replacment horn is very cheap from most autostores or junkyards.

Get an ohm meter and test the connectors to the horns for current while pressing the horn buttons on the steering wheel. If you are getting current, its your horns. If you aren't then you have a wiring issue somewhere between the buttons and the harness that connects to the horn.

To test with the ohm meter just plug the positive and negative prongs into the corresponding holes in the harness. Then press the horn button. If the reading increases then you have current and it is your horns. If there is no jump, double check that you are making clean contact with the prongs. If still no current then it is a wiring issue.

Luckily mine was a horn issue. 5$ fix. Good luck. Feel free to ask if you need any more info.:thumb:

alright i need to know how to take off that horn button cover on my stering wheel i tryed the horns and they work but when i push in the horn button no power is going to them
any suggestions on how to take it off other then ripping it off?

There is a small philips screw that you get to through a small access hole on the bottom of the steering wheel. Remove that, then the horn cover simply slides off. Just look around down there. . . .
