I had my manual boost controller hooked up as follow: from the nipple of the turbo into my boost controller where the arrow points in(to the left). The other side of the mbc going to the waste gate. The hose off the b.ov (stock) to the intake manifold. What effect on the turbo would this do? I redid my hose as follows: capped of the nipple @the turbo, line from the wastegate to the arrow of the mbc, out the other side to T-in between the line to the manifold from the b.ov.! I believe it hooked up right now, I got the info from a search w/link to a diagram how it should be hooked up.

IF you hooked it wrong in that order, your MBC will not hold any specific boost, it will shoot boost until you blow your engine. I had mine hooked up wrong really long time ago, I thought it was set at 12 psi then it shot to 20 psi. Luckily nothing happend, but thats what happens.

well it would only go up to about 15 psi, then fall back. But I did blow my old turbo, I was wondering if having this hooked up that way would have blown the turbo? :notgood:

Yeah - and about smacking 20 PSI, it aint that bad really. I've seen a guy rag on a GST Auto-Tranny (97) hitting fuel cuts alot of times on purpose - he said he almost saw 28 PSI before smacking into fuel cuts. (Was mad at his GF. Was her car.) ROFL LOL! :D :shhh:

i have mine hooked up with the compressor nipple blocked off, and then a hose from the actuator to the side of the boost controller (adjacent to the top bolt) and then put a T in the BOV line going to the intake manifold and ran it to the barb that is opposite of the bolt, have it set at 15 psi.... i had it where it was using pressure sources from the compressor nipple and the acuator nipple and it always boosted above 20, if i screwed it out, still would do it, so i T'd the BOV line and it liked to boost all over the place, then i switched the 2 hoses around on the Boost controller and wall ah, got it sitting steady at 15. hope i helped. :dsm:

Zach, my boost controller have a arrow on it. As I said before I came or the wastegate to the right of my controller were the arrow points the other way towards the pass sidethen out into the t- at tge blow of vavle hose going to the manifold.

USe the nipple on the turbo for your pressure source and it can only be hooked up 2 ways, right or wrong. Install it with a the arrow facing one way and if it doesn't work turn it around.

I still trying to find out if I had it wrong or right? Also what about the second way I have it, it's the way they have it on this site!

Ok im gonna do my best to explain this without the aid of pictures cause i suck at the internet.

The line for the BOV. Splice a "T" into that. connect a hose to that "T" and hook it up to the nipple on the bottom of the Boost Controller (Directly under the knob, streight down". Then take another hose and hook it up to the second nipple (the one that faces out the side of the Boost Controller and that goes to the Wastgate nipple.

The way this is working is that the knob is pushing a spring down with a ball under it. The pressure comming from the manifold is pushing that ball up aginst the spring and when the ball gets to the top it releases the pressurised air thru the side passage to the wastegate, and opens it up.

hope this helps. it would probly read a lot better if you looked at the gallery section of an engine bay or just a boost controller and read this.

Well let me state the controller is a turbonectics(supposely) I got it from a friend. The two nipples on it are evenly aligned on it (in and straight acrosson the other side arrow then other nipple). I was thinking on getting a different one like a hallman or JoeP. maybe a Dawes device like on my other car a Volvo. Maybe this is why he sold it to me it sucks  I went to that page were people gave their comments of different ones and people said it sucks.
