if i remove my passenger headlight for the "ram air" effect would i need to have hood pins? and how much does the headlight removal help?

You're not going to get much "ram", but you may get some cooler air coming in. Whether that'll matter to the turbo or not is debatible.
If you're running a CF hood, always run hood pins.
