I'm just getting ready to put the nose back on my car and I can't figure out how to get the hood and fenders lined back up the way they should be. I have pics attached. The door/fender gap seems to be fine, but there's a 1/4" gap between the fender and the hood. I've tried taking it off at least 5 times and putting it on different ways (starting with different bolts, holding pressure against the top of it...) and every time it comes out the same way. I haven't taken the hood off so I know that's in the original position, so it has to be the fender.

The way that I was told to do it was to start with the bolt inside the door, then the bottom 2, then put the top ones along the hood just tight enough so it holds it but there's still movement, and then the ones inside where the headlights go, and finally go back and tighten down the top ones.

Can someone tell me what the proper gap is between the hood and fenders? Maybe you can go out and measure it or something. Also do you have any tips on how to do it right?

That looks fine. Provided the fenders are pushed in tight as you bolt them down, then all you can do is center the hood between the 2 fenders. That gap looks normal, you're just trying to get it so the gap is straight and the same size on both sides of the hood..

Thanks. I put the other fender on and the gap is about 1/16" smaller. I dunno if that little bit is worth pulling the drivers side off and messing around with it again.
