Hi everyone,

I try to search this info, but couln't find it, am planning to rebuild my engine soon, I want to do the correct spec for my goals, high boost and high rpm lets say 8.5k rpm, thinking on 50 trim for that goal, not money for bigger turbo.

Should I get low compression forged piston (keeping stock 8.5) or get 9.0 compression piston (wiseco) for higher boost and high rpm?

my engine have 148k miles and not smog or issues, I really like this engine.

Well, till then that motor could go for another 30k. But talking about compression you can't go wrong between 8.5 or 9.0. I wouldn't go any higher then 9.0.

IMO, id go with 8.5 wiseco pistons.

valve train is the biggest part used when it comes to hitting that type of rpm a good set of kinggly springs and retainers you cant go wrong. upgraded valves and a big cam 272-280 i prefer FP or kelford

as pistons go.. i would roll with either 8.3-8.8 wiseco or ross 9.0 not bad but you will prob want to run some high boost so you might want a added safety margin with the low CR pistons plus you will prob run more pump gas then anything and low CR piston come in handy then..

I know i have to repalce my valvetrain a put some good cams there, that is a must, I was worry about the compression on the piston, so it doens't matter what you have on the bottom, you can just go high rpm....

i want this DD so no vp or meth here.. I just want to get the most power I can get on that setup under the safe spot.

then i would go with 9.0 because the low CR with effect the starting motion of the car(lag) is you will on acceleration during daily driving duties.. and since you want this to perform everyday that lag could become bother some to you.
and i don't think to many performance companies make pistons in 8.5 size i think its either 8.3 or 9.0 at least wiseco is that way

also don't skimp on any parts either the first time around....gl
