high revs when ABSing??

ya so of course in my terrible part in Canada it snows already. so im driving and the roads are just right icy. When i push the clutch in and brake and the abs starts to work the car revs to like 2500rpms and the when i let off the brake it goes back to normal its weird and annoying anyone know why this could be or is this normal of what????

It seems to me that this *could* be intentional in order to reduce the effect of engine breaking when the abs is in effect. Engine breaking shouldnt have a big enough effect to warrant raising the rpms tho, just a thought
