high idle problem

so a few days i raced someone and oil dip stick came out and oil shot everywhere. didnt seem to affect anything next day i started my car and the idle was going up and down 1000-1500 pretty quick then stayed at a steady 1500. i have a 97-gst could it be the iac or dirty throttle body plate im stumped i dont hear any vacume leaks or anything. when i start why car the vacume on the boost gauge is at like 11 or 12 then goes to 20 i dont get it i did a leak test and no leaks soo i dont understand!!

well you got me on this one but i would suggest looking around the engine bay to see if theres any wires that got burned or frayed by the hot oil.... also this might not be the problem bout i used to get similar surging problems when i had low coolant and air in my cooling system

At idle, you will read VAC on your boost gauge. The gauge measures for positive pressure in the system. When not under boost, no pressure in the ICPing, no pressure in the intake. Just...well...sucking.

I'd put my money on the IAC. Sounds dead on.

So I guess you don't mind not being able your oil level? 13 year old cars have been known to spring leaks from time to time.
