I just recently had my local DSM shop install a 3" o2 housing back exhaust with the stock o2 housing. I was holding a solid 14 psi on the stock 14b before the exhaust upgrade but now it's spiking way over 20 psi. Well, in fact, it's topping out my boost gauge (30-0-20 Autometer Phantom) I'm not sure what I could do to help "cure" my spiking problem. This really only happens when I go WOT but if I slowly get the rpm's up there it will level out, sort of.

Any help is welcome, thanks!

boost spike = boost initially shoot past the setting then immediately settles back down to the setting.

boost creep = hitting the setting first then slowly rises as rpm increase.

I suspect you have boost creep not spike.

S'pose that's your answer then. Boost creep. There are more threads on this than you can imagine. And most of them start with "so I got a new downpipe..." Have a look see and you will get what you need to fix it. Not a super big deal, just do some porting. :)

BTW change the title to boost creep instead, it will make searching easier for others in the future.
