hey everyone. im new to the site and picking up my 1990 TSI awd on sunday. The motor has 100k on it and the tranny, act2600, and fidanza flywheel has 30k. i was just wondering if there was something that i should really pay attention to when i pick it up. Thanks a lot

Welcome! Search button is going to be your best friend. First things to do.. maitance oil change..check all the things that are important...Typical things. Your little honda and subby friends will tell you how often your car will break down. Its your job as a DSM owner to prove them wrong. If you don't know what your doing...do plenty of research first. You have a 90 make sure you use some strong transmission fluid your syncros are very weak.
 
Definitely go easy on the launching with that 2600 and your 3-bolt rear end (these have thinner axles). Aside from that just visible smoke (could be a number of things), timing belt, necessary pulleys, and just the regular maintenance stuff.
