hesitation on 2g???

hey i have a 98 2g gst i have an hks ssqv bov,apexi gt spec 3" dp (exempts cat),3" dp back apexi n1 muffler, intake, new ngk plugs and wires, walboro 255hp and rewired. i have autometer a/f gauge and boost gauge. Im boosting at 16-17 psi consistently on the stock t-25. the turbo has no shaft play. but when im at WOT in mostly 4th or 5th gear my car hestitates then goes and hestitates then goes. its like a slight bucking. almost like loss of traction. it use to be a lot worse with the stock blow off. does anyone else have this prob? what could it be or how do i fix it?
 
its not fuel managment because it did this when it was completely stock and no i didnt upgrade the uicp. but if i was leaking i dont htink i would be boosting 16 psi thats what it is set at.

no i didnt upgrade the uicp. but if i was leaking i dont htink i would be boosting 16 psi thats what it is set at.

Ok it can be a few things, someone can correct me if I'm wrong (so there can be possiable my info is not all fact).

First of what are you boosting at 16 or 17 psi? It should hold steady, sounds like boost creep.

Just an upgraded blow off still can leak. You have a HKS, are you dumping or recurculating?

What RPM range are you at when it hesitates? Injectors could be maxing out.

Spark plugs and wires could be crape, and your not getting proper spark.

You could have to much knock, and its pulling timing on you.

It could be tranny fluid, something quite over looked (i know it sounds stupid but it happend to be)

Though most important you should get a logger asap , it will give you more of an Idea of what going on in the engine.

I hope you can fix your problem, I know what its like to have your car not working right.

my spark plugs and wires are brand new like 1 week ago. the hks blow off valve cant leak under boost boost is what keeps it closed. and whn i have my car stock it still hestitated even under stock boost. so i really dont think it could be the injectors maxin out. its usually happens when i give it more gas in upper gears when it starts spoolin. thats why im leading towards boost leak, ill keep it posted.
 
I have the exact same problem, on my 98GST I brought it to the dealship to get a tune-up and it seemed to go away for a day and the next day it was back. Im going back to them tomorrow. (the way you decribed it was identicle to my problem)

Im stock except for injen intake, turbo smart BOV

Ill suggest to the tech's that it could possibly be a boost leak

PS. for exzercist Ill post the problem if and when i find it out!

I just got my eclipse back today! It was at the dealship for 3 weeks :cry: I had to replace a timing belt and like 10 other things, the technician said that someone got in there before and didnt do things properly but anyways 1 of the problems was to get rid of that hesitation, and its back.... :thumbdown

I will probably bring it back in on monday.

Have you heard anything more about this problem or seen any mechanics?
(Im almost ready to sell the car)

Your problem might be the maf unit. You are also dumping your BOV, I just noticed. Ive seen all sorts of problems when people do this. From bad idle to acceleration issues. Every where I've looked on here its not recommend, unless you have a Maft unit instead. Here read this about dumping.

Well you might want to test the idea. It could be the solution to your problems, or it might not? You could try a stock setup and see how it runs? Otherwise look into buying a MAFT unit, I like it better then the VPC. Its the best solution if you want to dump to the atmosphere.

I just cranked the hose clamps down on all piping and its fine now. it wasnt the maf or the hks bov. just a simple damn leak thats all!!!! gsx-nv try this its prolly the prob.
 
Where is the hose clamp located? and can you just give me some details cause I have no idea what or how to fix the problem.

the intercooler clamps on the throttle body elbow, next to the blow off valve, intercooler inlet and outlet, and the turbo clamps on the turbo itself.
