Help, What the neck happened!!!!!!

I recently changed the oil in my car and now its starting to smoke a light blue. only when i turn on the car and when i stop for a few seconds and take off agian.


has this happen to anyone, and how can i fix it.

I just baught this car a few months ago, so this is the first time i changed the oil on it.
I will have to call the guy and ask him what he used.

If it was a different weight, would it cause the smoking??

What would be the best type of oil to use? ( penzoil, quaker, ect...)

Sounds like valve stem seals. A heavier-weight oil may help some.

Should i go up to 10w40? also any suggestions on what type??
how about some of that engine restorer or stop smoke, are those any good??

Your car should not smoke with that low of miles. On higher milage cars it is because oil is leaking past the rings or the valve stems. Putting in higher-weight (thicker) oil only covers the problem by not letting much oil leak through because it is too thick to. But that trick works. I do it too, I use 20w-50 royal purpal in my car.

Just for shits and giggles though, check the shaft play on you turbo, seals may be leaking.

I swear by castrol 20/50 Ive had nothing but success with it. Dont bother with synthetics either they just create leaks everywhere. Thats what I have noticed in my experiences with oil.

I hate synthetics all they do is cause problems in my experiences. By far castrol 20w50 conventional works the best in these motors. Everything else seem "too thin".

I run Royal Purpal synthetic (20w/50) and have never had a problem, Synthetic is also a lot better for your motor. I have seen an audi at 100,000 miles opened up. It used synthetic and showed almost no wear, the mechanic at audi thought the car had around 15,000mi on it. Dont knock it til you've tried it.
But it is your car.

PS. dont use synthetic on a rebuilt motor for 6000mi or so, it wont alow it to break in properly.
