Just as the titles states. I'm seeking other DSMTUNERS.com members suggestions on which part(s) I should be looking to buy next.

I'm in the process of rounding up a extra head to build and port. I'm thinking BC272's.

I'm open to any and all opinions.

Sorry forgot to mention my goals with this car. This will eventually just be a sunday driver. I don't live in a well populated area that has a drag strip or any sponsered auto-X events.
 
First we need to know what direction your trying to go. Do you plan on drag racing, auto-x, roadracing, or just a street car with a lot of potential?
 
I would start working on internals. The setup that you have right now should be good for some nice HP numbers and you already have suspension and brake upgrades. Unless you want more than just going fast, start looking into cams, pistons and rods next.
 
Assuming that its still a 7 Bolt in there, I would start by replacing that with either a Basic Performance build or even keep it stock. 7 Bolts can still handle the power just like a 6 bolt but the problem your going to run into is that the more power you start putting down, the stronger the clutch will have to be and because of that, your Main Bearing Thrust surface will wear down even quicker and lead to Crankwalk.

If Your going to do a Build, consider a 2.3L. No need to go full bore with a 2.4L because your turbo isnt huge so boost will drop at higher RPM's but a 2.3L is just plain fun on the street. Only thing extra you will have to buy is the Crank, other than that, your pistons are special but fairly the same price as 2L pistons and the rods are the same as a 2L.

Eagle rods, Wiseco Pistons, ARP Mains and Heads, Mitsu Gaskets, ACL Bearings, Whatever choice of awesome headgaskets. This will cost more in the long run but if you want a mean street machine, its the way to go.


Then again there is just swapping a 6 Bolt in there. Great choice, MUCH CHEAPER, will handle the power you'll put down, reliable, and seriously no need to Port and Polish the 1G head, Get it cleaned up if you want but for the money a Proper P&P costs, its not really what you need yet. I say just Crower or Manley Spring it, New seals and guides, valve job and 272/272 combo and you'll be set. A cost effective way of putting down reliable power.
