Ok, I know there are a TON of threads on upgrading and failures of ACT 2600 PP with streetdisks, I have been reading them for the last week. Everyone keeps saying that the Slave Cylindar Extension is a bandaid, but I cant seem to find and actual, factual thread containing what the REAL problem is.
I am upgrading my stock clutch to an ACT 2600 with 6 puck unsprung disk, and ACT streelite flywheel. now my question is, what am I going to have to do, so that I ensure long life of the clutch system?
I have read a bunch of horror stories, and I want this done right, the car has been torn apart since November, I want it on the road, and for a long time,
. Any advice, with proof?
The PP has miles on it, I am taking it to a local shop in Denver to have it rebuilt. The disk is new, and the flywheel was just resurfaced. If that helps. The pivot ball came shimmed already, by previous owner. When I took the tranny out, the t/o bearing came out in peices, couldn't find the spring clip, so I will use cotter pins, as I can't find the part from the dealership. The stock pp looked fine, but the one of the springs on the disk is broken, the others are looser than they should be, but plenty of life on the disk itself. I will post more info when I can think of it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
