Finally have my baby running good ,now i want more powwwaaa LOL

Check list and some questions
Dsm link
wide band
any words on them both would be good
255 fuel pump (I know i need that no question)
injectors ? where should i start , 550 or just jump to 1000 ..what brands , and why ? any place with flow charts? flow charts am i talking right ?
Afr - so many different ones , brands etc ..what do i need to look for ..What is the difference between the big name ones and ebay ones

now all the fittings and hoses , i am at a complete loss of what i will need ..hose length , fittings the works

after a bit of playing with dsm link ..I will toss on a 20g

Anything else i might be missing ? I don't have any specific power goals , just tossing stuff in to have fun

Don't forget drivetrain and brakes, consider a new intercooler or aluminum radiator too to keep those temperatures at bay
At least you're off to the right start, dsmlink being at the top of the list

No goals is a quick way to spend money and be disappointed. See my posts on project management. You're going to have to decide what you want the car to do before you go about doing it.

The parts i am going for there is no way to disappoint myself ,they are needed no matter how i go about it

Add to list
aluminum rad
breaks , now for rotors drilled and slotted or one or the other?

they are needed no matter how i go about it
Are they? It's very difficult for anybody to suggest what you need or why if they don't know what you're doing. If you haven't experienced many levels of mods you might be surprised at what you don't need. You also don't say if you have any constraints. There are few "best" parts out there depending on what you're trying to do and why you're trying to do it. Yes some may be a "I'm going to need it anyway" sort of, but typically not.
I'm not suggesting you do nothing or very little, I'm saying have a plan, find out whats needed to execute the plan and then do so. The nice thing about doing this is that many dsmers have similar goals so the plans are similar. That doesn't mean a list of parts is a plan, it isn't. Seriously, please read what I've written elsewhere. I've seen what you're trying to do 100 times in the past 20 years. It works better with a plan and carefully selected items to execute while following whatever goal(s) you have. It makes for a very enjoyable car usually.

Hes right. OP not having a plan or some sort of idea as to what and why your doing what and what to your car is stupid. :notgood:

Do yourself a favor and look at some of the build journals on this site. Not mine though.

I agree with him, if you dont get a plan you could end up like I did. Keep listening to other people tell me what I should get then after a while before you know it your replacing some things you already got because the system you put together is not compatible. Set a goal and then start planning what you will NEED to get there. Somethings are far more important than others and can even be lived without.

If i say 400 i will need to get into the engine etc ..i am sticking outside the engine ..I hit fuel cut , so my idea for the moment is to get around fuel cut ...I need dsm link because who doesn't ...I want to go with 1000 injectors instead of buying then up grading ...I need 255 and afpr to control the fuel and injectors , i will in the future need a aluminum rad

I get what everyone is saying set a goal etc , but untill i blow the engine i wont be setting any goals ..Once i do blow the engine it will be goals time ..

You don't need to go into the engine to hit 400. Look closely at the word need. Most people dont need a 255, afpr, aluminum radiator etc etc. Start slow, learn quick, understand how each part could affect another.
Did you read my posts on projects?
I'm not a fan of 255 fuel pumps as 99% of the people out there don't need one. It's also a very cheap upgrade if you do. Let's start with what you have. What do you have? No goals until you blow the engine? What kind of nonsense is that? I put 200k on a dsm motor and had no plans on blowing it up.

Lets take a for instance.
I want to upgrade my headlights. Why? I can't see well at night. Ok fine. Or, I think they look cool but I can see just fine with what I have. Both perfectly acceptable but you should know why you're buying something.

I need bigger brakes. Why? Are you experiencing brake fade? No? Then you don't need them. You may WANT them but you do not need them.

These are just examples. Mods are great but knowledge is greater. Some basic mods are just fine all by themselves but even some of those, exhaust etc come with compromises and consequences.

Ok lets go with this i hit fuel cut i want to push 25psi ...255 may be to big but i can control that with fpr (in case later on i want or need more fuel) injectors 1000 , i can control them ...Instead of buying everything 2 or 3 times for nothing get them now and control them ..That will bring me to dsm link i need that of course ...I never once said bigger breaks , better sure ...Also never bad to have good rotors any way ...Wide band , do i need to say anything about it
Please just help me with my questions that i original posted for ..

listen to how you sound right now... You're going to blow shit up sooner then you expect and then do it all over again if you don't end up parting out the car and blaming it on 'POS DSMs'. You don't even sound like you know how any of this works together. '"I need" "I need" "I need" what you really "need" is to do more homework bro. Trust me, if you're still messing around with the car a year or 2 from now you're going to come back to this thread and go... :ohdamn::rolleyes:

Do you understand this is why people are telling you to set a goal..so that you avoid doing this?

I am not new to dsm ..I love them and know its never the cars fault ..Only the owner that made it that way ...Now those are the parts i want to put on i just want some feedback on them ...

Ok you want them woo. Do you even realize you can lean out injectors and a fuel pump if you aren't using a set up that requires that much fuel? This will cause your parts to go bad and then guess what you get to buy the more expensive part twice instead of doing it right. Yeah Dsmlink is amazing that's one thing you can't go wrong with. If you actually did research the stock afpr is good up to around 500hp. Don't act like a stubborn 5 year old because you want cool parts. Listen to the people who have been doing this for 10+ years.

Ok then i will go with it i want to push 400-450 ..with out touching engine internals ...I will get dsm link of course ...Just because its cool LOL

Your best bet is gonna be figure out which turbo you want to run without pushing your internals to far. Then figure out fuel you need to feed that turbo. Also look at front mounts, boost controllers, and then tuning there's a lot more to it than people realize when you start and then you don't have your car for another 6-12 months

Wow at least read my mods list ...2nd i want to push my big 16g farther than 14 psi ..I am hitting fuel cut atm ...And 400-450 is my goal...
If the 16g can't get me there will a 20g ...Also post what else i will need to get me there

We aren't your parts store were here to help not tell you how to build your car try doing a little thing called research it's not hard

You have the mods listed and absolutely no fuel upgrades?
Here is what I'm going to recommend.

Some things need to be answered.
Do you have any constraints? Money, time, ability etc. The way you post it sounds like you have buckets of cash to spend. Okay fine.
Some things still need to be answered.
Are you planning on running on pump gas? Is this a daily driver? How do you expect the car to drive? Spool characteristics? Do you care what it sounds like? Do you care about idle quality? Is this on street tires? Do you have a certain ET for drag in mind or just a HP goal? What gas is available year round? Are we concerned with ground clearance? What maintenance has been done? Has anything been done to the suspension or driveline other than stock? Do we want to improve handling? If so how will that affect driveline reliability? What is the current condition of the motor? Compression? Leakdown? Oil pressure? What maintenance has been performed already? Does the car overheat? Will it when weather changes? Does it need a coolant system upgrade with an FMIC installed? Does the car have AC? If not have all items been removed? Will they be?

All of these things need to be considered in order to drive the car reliably, not just to make the HP you want.
400 on a 16 is out there. You need to investigate how much air a particular turbo will deliver in order to figure out if a certain HP number is even possible, if that is your only goal. It won't happen on pump gas with that turbo. Then you'll need to add enough fuel to support whatever airflow you are trying to push through the motor.
Keep in mind even those two basic things will greatly affect how the car drives and the remaining questions will determine if the car will continue to drive. Is DSMlink and 1000cc injectors a good choice? Maybe, not even sure 1000 is big enough depending on fuel choice. These are things you'll have to research and answer. DSMlink is likely capable of anything you're going to do and it's versatile. Does that make it a good choice? Probably. But along with that comes the ability to jack things up so keep that in mind. You'll be entering a territory where there are no safeties such as fuel cut. Fuel cut is a defense mechanism and a big one. We can list a bunch of parts to make 400hp but you may not like the result because we don't know how you intend to use the car. The flexibility of the car typically gets compromised the farther out you go. It will demand certain fuels or conditions to deliver what you want depending on how you go about building it. You have way way way more information and parts available to you than I did 20 years ago. Choose wisely.
Please tell me if you read my post on project management and then please answer a few questions about how the car is to be used and what's been done to it other than mods.

Oh, and turn the boost DOWN.

You have the basics there. I would choose LC1 or the mtxl for wb.
aeromotive makes an afpr.
20g is a good turbo.
You def want a fmic.
Go larger on injectors, only if you have link though.
And most of all, do you plan on building the engine? If you do, make sure its done completely and done right. Also, consider the lag of the 20g, its not going to feel like a little guy, itll have some lag to it.
I know going from never having riden in a turbo car, to a t25 stock 2g, to a fully built pte5858 with all the trimmins what a massive difference there is. It takes bigger turbos a little longer to spool up. Youll find out. Your not far off track. The things you listed, aside from the turbo, are things you most def need no matter what upgrade path you choose.:thumb:
