alright so here is the deal. I recently changed my clutch to that special ebay special XTD stage 3. Resurfaced my flywheel, changed my TOB, the pivot ball and the Fork to Brand new OEM. Everything is in now the problem occurs. Ive bleed and bleed and bleed and STILL my clutch pedal is SPONGY! Ive changed both my slave and master. NO leaks and it is still is spongy. I installed a stainless steal clutch line awhile back before i installed the clutch. What could be the problem? oh yeah and i also noticed my TOB is noisey AGAIN. I just changed it. Whats going on? What can cause it to start making noises again. ah i need help =(

Hook up a long transparent hose from the slave cylinder bleed valve. The long tube will enable you to observe the fluid as it travels downwards into your waste bucket. If you see any bubbles in this fluid, you will know that you still have air trapped in the clutch lines. Take a wrench and tap on all the clutch lines. This helps loosen up any trapped air bubbles. Take off the rubber dust cover boot, and have a friend press down on the clutch pedal. Visibly observe to see if the slave cylinder rod is moving at all. Did you measure the step height on the flywheel?

Sorry i just called it the "Ebay Special" clutch but anyways I'll try to tap around the clutch lines and use a transparent hose to see if it does the trick. I get back asap thanks sonic:thumb:

Alright, so i banged around the clutch lines to try to loosen up any air bubbles and bleed the system with a transparent hose as mentioned. For the first 2 bleeds i had some air bubbles but after about 3 more all air was not present. I made sure the resevior was always filled. Checked the clutch and still was the same. I tapped the clutch line to see if there was any air left, Bleed and bleed and no air present again. STILL the same. Does the Flywheel have to be at a certain Step to make these Clutch FEEL right? Everything is good except the Clutch pedal pressure. Im so clueless

When you say the clutch doesn't "feel" right, what exactly do mean? Is the pedal falling to the floor and not coming back up again? Does it feel too stiff, or too soft? If the step height on the flywheel is incorrect, the clutch will not be able to properly be disengaged/engaged and it may feel a little strange. Have you tried starting the engine to see if the clutch actually works? Remember that you can always adjust the clutch pedal itself to your liking. Did you remember to grease the pivotball, fork, and TOB? If not, chatter/noise can result.

The cluch right now is perfect other than the feeling of the clutch pedal that it is too soft (spongy) It engages and disengages perfectly. When i put everything back in i did grease everything. I can drive it no problem its just the clutch feels Spongy. I have tried adjusting the clutch pedal to see if it changes but nope. The TOB has more of a knocking sound than a sqeaking sound.

Perhaps something went awry with your TOB or clutch fork. Peel off the rubber boot, get your car on jackstands. Start the engine and peer into the bell housing with a flashlight. Try to get a glimpse of the TOB (can't remember if its visible or not). Oh well, at least the car is driveable! Does the clutch slip or do anything weird at all?

Nope nothing out of the ordinary other than the clutch pedal pressure. Maybe i just have to learn to get use to it? Ill try to take a peak in the bell housing.
