ok i new the the world of dsm but i just recintly got a 93 tsi and after driving it 2 miles it skiped timing and bent all the intake vavles. ok cool i put a head and timing belt and tensioner. now after test driving it for 2 miles some how some way the boost maxed out the autometer guage so it was pulling like 20 psi or more and load and behold its got a rod knock.. so i pulled the pan and the bearing on number 1 is toasted and and the crank looks pissed... so there some history now i need some info.. i am goin put a moter in. dont if im gonna do a rebuild or bone yard or what..
1. what is up with the 92.5 to 94 are those the 6 bolt or 7 bolt it had a differant timing belt tensioner?
2. where can i get some cheep rods and pistons?
3. Are the stock pistons cast or forged
4. what is the pros and cons of putting a non turbo moter and put my turbo stuff on it or is even possible?
5. or should i sell it and cry?

i like this car i want it for a daily drive in the winter and what not
i build and race old mopars and not familar with these but they are cool any info would be great

thanks

Sorry to hear about your car. The say thing happened to be a year and a half ago. Owned the car for a day car blew up. If your car is really a 93 you have a 7 bolt motor in there same as i did. If you really need to know look on the pillar when you open the door. There you will find a month and year on manufacturing. If you are tryin to get the car up and runnin real quick you might have to order a jdm cyclone motor and put that in there. Good Luck and don t get discouraged things are goin to break on that car get used to it
