Hey guys, i tried seraching for this but the search isnt working for me right now and i want to know if this is bad before i have to drive tomorrow. I turned off my car tonight and noticed there was a noise kind of like a humming coming from somewhere underneath the power steering resevoir. I thought it was nothing like just the car cooling off or something. I came back out 10 minutes later and it was still doing it....so i popped off the hood and disconnected the negative and it stopped. I reconnected it and it resumed humming. I have a 95 gst. I wanna know if this is normal or is this a bad thing? I took it out for a drive after and it drives normally but when i came back it was still humming so i left it disconnected. any info greatly appreciated thanks.

Someone probably knows but this post wasn't a good idea. Maybe something with the alternator? I can't imagine what would hum like that otherwise.

well it was either try posting or shell out 75 bucks for a diagnostic only for them to tell me its normal or it will go away

Do you have an alarm? Maybe thats it. Are you sure the sound isn't coming from one of your speakers or a sub if u have it?

i dont have sounds or an alarm...it kinda sounds like the radiator fans sound they make but softer and more electricy...coming from the area where the alternator is

id say keep ## battery cable off if u need to drive tommorrow or the battery might die. this post is going to be locked as soon as an admin sees it for that bump, so either delete it or starta new post
