Help! Newly rebuilt GVR4 died and won't restart

Hello DSMTuners,

My name is Sean, came over from GVR4.org for some extra help.

Newly rebuilt galant vr4 was idling, timed correctly, warming up before taking her out for first drive. Then a friend of mine bumped the ecu (on passenger floor) and she immidiately died with a single backfire following the engine dying and wouldn't restart.

- ECU is properly grounded
- ECU connectors securely plugged in
- no visible damage is ECU, pins, or connectors
- room fuse and MPI fusable link tested with multimeter and good
- when key is in ON position, CEL lights up for 5 seconds then goes off
- battery tested and at 12.5v
- new used ecu and mpi
- engine cranks but no spark

Please help, i am desperate. Thank you guys

im guessing there is no spark across all cylenders? i could check the primary restance and secondary resistance on the coil packs, then check your camshaft angle sensor and your crank position sensor.

Is the ecu from a vr4 or a 90 dsm? If not have you changed the pins? I don't believe those pins affect spark however. When my ecu burnt up is had a unique fishy smell.
