Here is what I have to work with. There are no other options or equipment. So this is what I have to deal with. Before I go routing wires and installing shit, I wanted a few opinions from some audio gurus. OK, now onto the equipment.
Alpine CDM-7874 HU 20x4 (however, I am willing to bet it's closer to 10W RMS)
Alpine 3541 2ch amp. 35x2 RMS
INfinity Reference 5.25" going in the doors
Infinity Kappa 3.5" going into the dash.
Now, should I wire up the 5.25's to the amp, and the 3.5's to the head unit? Or just wire up the left side in parallel, OR series, and do the same for the right side, then wire it up in 2 ch. mode to the amp?
I'm figuring, if i wire it up the first way, the doors will get an honest 35W, while the dash speakers are only going to get 10W. Wiring up left and right side in parallel, would yield a 2ohm load on the amp, but give me prolly 30-35W per speaker on each side, but also run the amp pretty hot (which is going under the seat). Wiring up the left/right speakers in series, would only yield 17W per speaker.
What do you guys recommend?
