I have bin on this site for a little while now I think and i am sick of trying to find information that I want and end up reading about pissing matches and he said she said crap all I want to do is build a road race and hill climb able DD I would like to run at 400 hp in a 2g gsx and not my 420a! so what im asking is if anyone knows of GOOD threads that might help me and if so to post links for me here because I am sick of all the bull when I try to find HELPFUL information thank you

I just typed practically a novel for you and I just accidentally erased it... I'm really pissed right now. Wait for an edit if I decide to type all of it again...

EDIT: Ok I will just give you the basic rundown of what I said:
Any thread in the Road Course & Autocross section is worth a read. You will find a lot of great info there from others that have done road racing before.

The handling section is ok as well but you will have to dig to find good information. There are a couple DSMwisemen and reputable members that will have usually gotten into long discussions there. Try to stumble on those posts to get some good info on handling.

Anything Beau says should be taken very seriously when you find his threads, he has a lot of experience with road racing. Read his build journal: Beau's Build Journal. There is some absolute golden info in there about how you will want to have your cooling/radiator setup for a road course vehicle.

As far as aero goes, there is a REALLY NICE aero kit made for our cars but I don't know who has the molds to replicate it at this time. You are going to have to dig a little deeper to find out how to get a copy of it. Hands down it is probably the best aero kit made for our cars that I know of and was designed for road racing from the start. Here are some members that have the aero kit:

Green Goblin's build journal. Green Goblin also makes quite a few custom parts that will help with the overall stability of the vehicle in road racing such as his fender braces. Ask him about those.

TSiAWD666's Gallery. TSiAWD666 also has a copy of the aero kit. I can't find his build journal at the moment. But posts from him are bound to be useful about aero as well.

That is a good start. As far as handling goes, the first person that comes to mind is jtmcinder. Find any posts from him in regard to handling (plenty of other stuff too) and you should be able to get some good info together as well.

This was WAY more in depth and more detailed before but this is still a lot of good info. I am still really upset about deleting that post. I was writing it forever... oh well.

Honestly im not going to be a D*** like everyone else and flame you, but ive made one or two of these types of threads like yourself, and NO ONE EVER HELPS.

so in other words just try and look up some road/hillclimb builds, thats all i can say to the least of helping. LOL i even made a poll on one of my threads and not a single soul on this forum gave a F*** LOL

Good Luck!

If I would have seen them, I would have posted. I am always trying to get info on road racing because I would love for my car to eventually be decent at it. Unfortunately, my build journal is not really worth reading until I get more to the actual "road racing" part of it... someday... LOL

Honestly for true hill climbing I feel you will be in lower gears and extremely high RPM's most of the time and I feel a 2.0 would be more beneficial IMO. I feel like a low compression, built motor capable of 9kish RPM would be the route I would go. You just need to find a turbo that you like that is in really good efficiency at those levels. Preferably something that can spool quickly.

Unfortunately, when it comes to turbo's I'm not the biggest help. The first thing I would look at is a 68HTA because of the spool time (which can make or break a road race car sometimes). The only thing I am unsure of is that it MAY run out of breath at that level of RPM. You will have to experience that for yourself or get a turbo expert to help you out a little.

People might respond if there was a clear, developed message in your post, as well as a descriptive thread title.

Also, one punctuation mark is insufficient for 108 words..

one word, TROLL. Submit informative information, at least everyone that has posted has contributed some sense to what this guys asking help for. jeez. :shhh:

Under the "MEMBERS" tab at the top of the page there's a DSM Dyno Challenge tab. I'd check there for what people are making for power and then look at their setup. For 400hp, a 16g with supporting mods will get you there on a stock bottom end and spool quickly. Then the money spent building a stroker could be spent elsewhere.
