I always get a ton of knock while boosting. I've got an e316g at 20psi, evo 560 injectors, walbro 190, and tuning with an safc. I was thinking maybe my open o2 dump was tripping my knock sensor so I tried some part throttle pulls. It still knocks at anything about 45% throttle only building around 14psi maybe. I'm logging with evoscan. My injector duty cycles at 45-50% throttle are around 45% and it knocks like crazy while boosting. Like it picks up 10 counts at once and just keeps going. It's done this for months. When I go full throttle it picks up a constant 7-6 counts and I only have 3 degrees timing advance. And at 20psi and full throttle I'm only seeing IDC of around 45%. I could just use some help here.

Could be since your running a e316g at 20 psi, have you tried turning down the boost back to say 14-15 then working on the timing vs. Boost to figure out the best set up.

Also what kind of fuel are you using?

I'm using 92-93 octane. On the safc I have my high throttle settings at -21%. Is this too lean for my boost level?

As they said do you have a Wideband? that is the only really way to know... .

As well take into account that the timing you are seeing is after the ECU pulls it back from knock.
If you are using a SAFC so there is no way to control timing and any time you pull fuel (the airflow signal) The ECU will see less load. hit a lower load cell and in turn up the timing from what it would be at a higher load... .

Is this the Car in your profile? If so pick up a Openport Flash cable and use the Stock Ecu too tune and rip out the SAFC... . You can do A LOT with it...

Just an update. I went out and did some fine tuning today. I was just pulling too much on the safc. I'm now running 20psi with zero knock and over 20 degrees timing advance at redline.

There is a much better way to get a tune available to you, Via your stock Ecu FYI... .

Might keep that in mind if you ever plan to keep modding your car... . The SAFC will only get you so far. :)

Yeah I know but the safc fits my needs for a dd. When I get a awd 1g it will have link. But I got this safc for dirt cheap so I couldn't pass it up.
