Ok, summer is almost here and its time to change up the wheel/tire set-up. I'm stuck choosing between 18 x 8 hyperblack Enkei RPM2s that weigh 17.5lbs each shown here (please excuse the snow, bad pics):

Or should I go with 17 x 7 (they don't offer 18 x 8) gloss black 5-spoke with polished lip and unknown weight shown here:

Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks

I'd go with the top ones, that just looks amazing. It really suits the car thats for sure.

I've always had a thing for 5 spoke style rims. So that gets my vote.

Thanks guys, this has got to be one of the hardest decisions I've made for my car. I don't want the black/polished lip thing to be played out and I want to be unique; but its hard when I've always been a 5-spoke guy as well. The Enkei's do look sick at night as well:

Here's a link to the Enkie website.
It says the 18x8's have a 35mm offset.
Who's car is that in the pictures?
Are you sure those are 18's?
I'm looking for some 18's for my car, and if a 35mm offset will fit 235/40/18 on those rims, then consider it done....

It is my car that is pictured and they are 18 x 8 with a 35mm offset.

Tires are Toyo Proxes FZ4 225-40-18.

Yeah I also like the top ones. If it were me i'd go with a set with a lip on the rim. Lips look just as sexy on rims as they do on my girl. Her mouths pretty hot too! ba dun chhh!!:thumb:

Right on Matt, I guess I was kinda confused, ### you were asking us to help you make a choice, but you say those wheels are on your car.

Well, if that's your car, then the decision has been made.

I'm retarded when it comes to Photo Shop.
Can someone photochop any of those 1st three pics with the Enkie rims, I would love to see those rims on a white car please?

Thanks in advance....

I'm sorry but I think they're already played out.

Yea they are on my car, but decision isn't 100% yet. I can still buy another set and sell these.

If you want me to get some different angles of the rims on the car to use for photoshop let me know.

Yea, thats what I'm afraid of. I think I'd be happier with the hyperblack Enkei's in the long run.

If you're getting rid of the top ones, i'll take them off your hands :) :thumb:

I definetly think the first ones look great but I have always preferred a mre open wheel like the 5 spoke for example, so I gues my vote would be for the second set.

Hey Matt,
Are there any fitment issues, or rubbing with those Enkei's and those Proxes 225/40/18's?

Nope, none at all. I had my suspension adjusted for 225-45-17 wheels (winter rims and tires in sig and gallery pics) and didn't need to adjust it at all. I've taken many hard turns and hit large bumps with no fender rub or tire rub of any kind.

Right on, I hope you don't mind, but I just ordered a set of 18x8 +35 on Falken FK451's 225/40/18 for $1596 out the door.
Man, I can't wait, and I guess I should thank you for showing us those wheels. :thumb:

Matt, I'm still saying go with the Enkei's... let Brandon's car live on through another local DSM.

Here's a chop that Pinder made of the black rims:

You know my vote, only regret is not going with the 18x8 instead of the 17x8. Nice lightweight wheel for a good price.

Thanks,

17.5lbs for 18", that's a very light wheel.

i like the 5-spoke with polished lip more, but i am pretty sure it's heavier then the enkie since most wheels are heavier then 17lbs for 17", unless u go with the forge ones.
