help me please well i put 300 miles on my new motor and i was too anxious and went and got it tuned.... well i got one pull in and spun a rod bearing and i was at 12 pounds it was very depressing, the crank was cut and fitted with bearings at the machine shop and i was wondering if it was the machinist that could have been at fault because the car ran fine up to 300 miles then when the tune came it went bad... so then i take my oil out and see that it looks like metalic silver color weirdWTF

need more info for a good diagnosis without seeing or touching any part of the car. Where did you get the motor done at? any internal modifications? run the car hard?...things of that nature. Also I would changed my oil sooner using the cheapest crap for break-in. I figure just keep pumping fluid through the beginning of its life (I know others think differently).

Did you change the oil pump when it was rebuilt? Did you change the oil before boosting? If so, what did it look like?

NO I DIDN'T RUN IT HARD I SHIFTED AT 3500 EVERY TIME THRU EACH GEAR LET ME TELL U THATS A bi*** GOIN UP A HILL ... BUT YEAH EAGLE RODS ANY THING ELSE U NEED:thumb:

If you didn't follow proper break in procedures, or were dealing with old oil pumps, it could totally be your fault. Did you change your oil before your 12psi run? Were you getting good pressure? Who was doing the tuning? What was the rev limit. If you were spinning it at 9 or 10k, all bets are off. Was it pig rich? If you didn't follow proper break in, were getting blowby with a super rich tune you are SOL.

It could also totally be your machinist's fault. If I were you, I'd go back to them and tell them what happened. #1 they should know everything about your engine already (we can only guess), #2 If they blow you off, you'll know never to go back, but if they are trying to keep a good reputation up they should also work with you to try and figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

In summation, NEI (not enough info : )

Actually if you have a balanced crank, and a set of aftermarket pistons and stock rods you can easily make 450hp without blowin the bottom end.

thanx for the input guys i brought it back to them and they are figuring out what went wrong so ill post back in a few days
