I just replaced my clutch and pressure plate. I did it by the book(haynes) and I have one extra bolt.WTF It is about 3 inches long, only 1 inch of it is threaded, its top is 12mm and has a "10" printed on it, and its brass colored. Is has to be something involved with the transmission removal or anything in between or maybe part of the intake. Any suggestions will be very helpful, even general point in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

i forgot to mention, it has 2 washers. The top one is a lock washer and the bottom one is a regular washer but a little bigger.

Sorry for the bad quality, I took it with my phone. Its a little over 2.5inches long.

With the size of that bolt I would say its a starter bolt. There are 2 bolts on my 1.8 that hold my starter to the tranny housing...I assume your 2.0 is no different. I think thats too small to be a engine to trans bolt. Good Luck man!

Its not the starter bolts, I have both of those. I dont think its the one about the drive shaft thats hard to get to. Its too small in diameter.

That bolt is smaller than the other bell housing bolts. Do you remember putting that one back in? If the starter is bolted up that doesnt leave much else, there are not that many long bolts on a clutch job. I would double check it. Does it have a 12mm head?

considering its a clutch job and you didn't remove anything that wouldn't be necessary, my moneys on either a engine to trans bolt or the starter bolt. I think the slave bolts are shorter and are 10 mm heads.

ok, i checked a few things. Its not the starter bolts, they are bigger and both are in. Its not the slave cycinder bolts, they are smaller and both there. I dont know where else it could be. It was too small for the whole above the driver side driveshaft...I think.

If someone can look for the bolt I would apriciate it alot. Its 12mm and has 10 printed on the top.

You are wanting people to go crawl under there car to find what you missed?WTF Go back over your install and see what is missing. YOu have enuough suggestions to havea place to start. Alot of bolts have 10 printed in them. And there is no way that I would go take my car apart to find what YOU missed. Sorry I have been all the help I can. Did you check to see if the trans bolt was missing or just keep asking the same question?

I tried it there when I put everything back together. The bolt it too small for the whole. And I wasnt asking you go to go jack up your car and look around for a bolt, I was aking if anyone was in the process of taking out there transmission they could see were the bolt goes. Im going to try it in the spot you told me again but im pretty sure it doesnt fit.

So are you saying the bolt IS missing in that location? "bolt is too small for the hole" as in the threads are too big on the bell housing? Sound like you're trying to thread it into the block which has no threads. Is the bolt you have m8 x 1.25?

Ok, you all were right. Its the one that goes above the driveshaft. I was confused because there was already a bolt missing, I was looking for an empty hole. But now I have to find were that bolt goes.... Thanks for your help and sorry for the frustration.
