and it left this grayish residue, sticky stuff. Its turning out to be a hell of a lot more work than i thought it would be to remove, anyone remove it before? Any help/tips? The car wash pressure hose didn't do anything, and goo-be-gone isn't working either, all i have been able to do is slowly, painfully, chip away at it with a plastic scraper.

As crazy as it may sound, I used some brake cleaner to get some old cam stickers off my Talon and it worked like you wouldn't believe. You could literally wipe it off with a napkin. It didn't affect my paint at all either. Try it on an inconspicuous spot first though with that pretty paint of yours.

little update, the brake cleaner sadly didn't work, nor did the sticker remover i bought from autozone, nor the adhesive remover... blah! getting frustrating, I'll be trying the clay bar the next warm day i get, but so far i am 0/4

That's crazy that the brake clean didn't work. I was sure that'd get it. I'm picturing a light sticky residue. Is it more than that? I used the b/c again today to set some tape residue off of a gauge bezel. Good luck, man. :thumb:

well the only product that i use for anything sticky is called "GOOF OFF" this shit worked wonders for my jeep when i was getting off stickers.... even took some paint off from where me and a buddy swapped paint....couldn't get it off for the life of me and this stuff took it of in 30 seconds.... also it didn't touch my paint at all pretty sure because of the clear coat

THAT IS THE DUMBEST IDEA EVER. Are you trying to strip the paint right off right down to the bare metal? Brake cleaner when applied right and given a little pressure will remove your paint right now to the bare metal and is a good way to get back at someone if they #### with your car.

The proper way to remove that is go to a detailing shop and get some solvent or lacquer and the goo will come right off without trouble. I detail and I have never heard such a dumb statement as to use brake cleaner before.

That sir takes the cake.:ohdamn:

its raining today, but tomorrow if it lets up, i'll get some pics so show ya what i'm dealing with, it almost reminds me of the sticky stuff that holds the rear windows in place (not the hatch, the little triangle windows by the back seats)

Use a hairdryer to soften it up, then go the GooGone route.

I made the mistake of parking under the wrong tree once and literally ended up with my car looking like it had been rained on with tree sap. I tried MANY things and the only thing that ended up working for me was rubbing alch and some elbow greese.
