Help, car is hitting 20 psi!

Ok, so I just got my car back with a new motor after a nice little crankwalk episode. Before the car went it, I had a 3in Tanabe catback and was hitting about 13psi. I get the car back and install my Greddy Type-S and air filter and now I'm hitting 20psi when I go WOT. The type-S seems to be adjusted right, it sounds perfect when it blows off, no flutter or surge. I'm gonna go out and re-install my stock BOV and see if that was the problem, but do you guys think it could be anything else?

I have the same problem, you just need a boost controller. A friend of mine has the same mods (As do I) as you, but he has a Greddy Profec B, and he's set it to hit 15 and stop on the t-2-slow.

In short, get a Boost Controller and you'll be fine.

You don't need a boost controller...sounds like the wastegate is stuck closed.

If the wastegate isn't opening, what's the point of putting a boost controller on?

A boost controller can't lower boost - buying a boost controller isn't gonna help him. Are you sure all your vacuum lines are tight? Your wastegate might be stuck closed but because you installed a turbo related mod it is probably that. Good luck!

What would cause the wastegate to be closed? A faulty wastegate itself or a vacum line not hooked up or hooked up wrong?

Alright got it all figured out, one of the vacum lines was disconnected and I didnt notice it until today. Thanks guys.

Where was the vaccum line disconnected at? I'm having the exact same problem installed greddy type-s now the boost went past 20psi, and my boost controller won't do anything
