k guys I replaced the b wire ( 12v) eyelid or loop whatever you want to call it.

Im really confused now.

This is what happens

Battery is dead....so I need to connect booster cables. then I see my alarm light flashing I start the car no problem at all.

Car is running as we speak ... idling no problem It can idle there for 30mins maybe longer haven't really tried.

I give it gas and all no problem there ( stationary still ).

Here is the problem. Im scared to go drive it dont want to stall so I go froward and backwards in my parking/ Garage ... my radio turns off sometimes when going forward and backwards.

Right now its sitting in the garage idling / with radio on.

Its really when I give it gas to go forward or leave It seems to turn off.

Flashs on and off. So It seems of getting a voltage problem somewhere?

Can this be due to a bad battery ? When is the battery used? just for starting ? then the alt does the job?

this battery is new but Think ive drained it a couple times :S

any advice?

Well I would get your battery tested for an easy starter, but it sounds to me like your alternator. I'm not for certain how good this is or if it will work for a dsm but you can try and check your alternator by turning on your car and unplugging your battery and see if it still runs.

Get a volt meter at your local parts store for $10. The hook it up to your battery when the car is off. It should be somewhere between 11-12 volts. If its lower than battery needs replacing. If battery has right voltage turn car on and see what the voltage is. If battery is charging your alternator is good if battery voltage drops your alternator is bad.

Get a multimeter. Turn your car on and rev car to 2k if voltage doesn't go up to around 13.6v there may be a problem with your alternator. You can also turn all accessories on (wipers, a/c full blast with windows open, radio on, high beams, everything. Check voltage at battery again.

Sound like your alternator isn't charging the battery, that's why your radio is turning off because there isn't enough voltage to run accessories. You said you changed your b+ cable? B+ cable on what the alternator or starter? Because if you changed it on the alternator you may have not tightened it completely, making the alternator not charge the battery at times because of the connection.

Btw, myth that 100% charge is 12v it's actually 12.8.

Okay guys I would like to know something basic when the car is started what makes it run ? the Alt or the battery ?

because it runs fine ? wouldnt that make the battery the problem ?

any ways sitting in the car with everything on : heater full blast , wipers full , high beams and radio .... Revving at 2k NO problem multi meter reads 1.42 set on 20 so thinking thats 14.2?

B wire on the Alt I changed the tip of it. Can that maybe be loose?

idling multimeter reads 1.47 now went to go see.

been idling for like 1 hour without dieing down idle and DRL and radio.

Cant see how it would be the alt tho.... or else car would of died a long time ago no ? wouldnt be able to idle with lights and radio for this long on just the Battery

Ok, sorry I didn't mention that part LOL. The alternator makes the battery charge as the car is running. So both. Your alternator is perfect after that test, check that connection!!!!!!

check you connections at the battery + make sure all the wires are tight in the lug and not corroded.

I pretty sure its the B wire , how is that suppose to be setup..

I mean on one of my other alts , theres a little plastic thing then a nut then the B wire with another nut ... LOL if you understand.

Do I put the B wire lug right on that stud touching the alt casing ?

It sounds like your battery is not holding a charge... i'd get your battery checked out and see if you have a dead cell. If the battery turns out being good i would do a slow charge for 12 or more hours. It would be a good ideal to get your alternator checked out with a pile tester, it will put the necessary load needed to make sure your alternator is putting out the right amount of amps. I have had it where the voltage is fine but putting out below spec amperage.

New problem .... turned the car off and now nothing at all car has no inside lights or whatever. When I plug the booster cables the lights turn on .. dash lights etc then I can start the car..

Is this a battery terminal problem or can this be a bad battery ? ( doubt it since multi meter reads 1.38

If your terminals are tight and not green and fuzzy, id say its the battery. You live in Quebec, bring your battery down to Canadian Tire they will check your battery for free. Id start with getting the battery checked out, you can guess all day what it could be... your battery could also have a surface charge, when it see a load the battery drops voltage not producing the needed amps to start your car.

its fixed now for the terminals , 98% sure its the b wire which is cause the alt to kick in and out making the radio go off and wipers slow down when it happens.

What is the b wire? My interior lights, door locks, and wipers are not working all of a sudden and my starter is acting up.
